Up to what?

Well we have been up to...
- meeting a new addition to our farm family-- can you guess? what do we have? let's here your thoughts.
-playing with the the one and only 2 week old chick
- hanging out
- working 8 hours on saturday
- hunting
- cleaning
- laundry
- working full five days

Happy Birthday Tucker! Wow, where has time gone??? The baby at this house is 4 today! Tucker Ross Bish born 3-22-2007 11:58 a.m, 8lbs 1 oz 20 1/2 in.

We love you Tucker Ross, you are special to us in many ways. We love to watch you grow, but hate to see you in trouble. Keep up with the thumbs up days at Dennys as it will soon turn into thumbs up days at school!!! If you continue to grow so fast we won't be able to keep shoes to fit you!! Have a great Birthday big 4 year old!!!!

Happy Birthday Brandon Lee!
He turned 29 yesturday and we spent the day with another couple and had a fun time in Des Moines. We shopped some, golfed a little (we went to play at a golf simulator and it had computer errors) ate some, and enjoyed the day in a different city. I believe he had a good birthday and it was worth waiting at the golf place, because now we get to go golf this summer for nothing!!!
We have that birthday celebration down and 1 to go. I need to work on a cake for Tucker Ross! Pictures and updates later!

Yes We have 1 chick!!! 3-16-2011! We also have one hole pecked!!

Waiting...

We are still waiting to see if a chick will hatch?? They are moving.. i promise. I do believe there is life in their, I just think they are taking their sweet time. I have several text messages asking about them and I am still withing, so are the kids. Tayden said, "mom can we just crack the eggs and let them out?", but no we can't they have to come out when they are ready. so hopefully within the next couple hours, or days!!!

Only one

There is only 24 hours left before we could possibly have baby chicks!!!! I can't wait to see one this evening, tomorrow, tomorrow evening, when will it be????

FYI--- Twentieth day - yolk sac completely drawn into body cavity; embryo occupies practically all the space within the egg except the air cell

Yeah

Yep, I did it. I candled the eggs and didn't come up with any answers... so I ... yep... I did... I broke an egg in a bowl, and YES there was a chicken developing in the egg. Good news, the Bish boys haven't overheated the eggs. We are growing chickens, right here in our dining room!!! It is exciting to me that next week, Saturday, Sunday and Monday we may have baby chicks!! Real live baby chicks!!!!

This week will be the most exciting of the 3 weeks that it takes!!! I can't wait!!!

Today is day 14 and at day 18 I have to increase the humidity! Could someone please remind me?

Day 13

Day 13, we are just about 1 week from the chance of a hatching chicken. I may have to investigate to see if there are really chickens inside. I may have to try to candle, or disect an egg.. If I do I will be sure to share the information.
We are feeling better at this house! Enjoying time with each other, and extra time with some extended family!!
