Grandma

 So I think I probably had some of these pictures on the Christmas blogs!!  But it is amazing to me that we have such large families, and I think it is normal, well I know we are not normal, however I am realizing that big families aren't "normal" either and if they are they very seldom all get along well enough to be in a house together for 3 hours!!!!  Miss Martha with the 3 originals

This is the WHOLE group!  I believe 38 or something- go ahead and count if you wish, but we were all there on Christmas Eve and this has been the tradition since I was small!!   So reflecting on family- this half I love to see and glad to have!!!!

100th Day

So we made it to the 100th Day of school on Thursday!! Yes it is crazy that we got there especially because we can't seem to get a whole week of school in, due to this crazy weather!! It is too cold, then there is snow, then there is ice! Sheww  We made it and we only have 74 school days before it will be time to sit, relax, and enjoy some warm sunshine!!!  This momma loves books, blankets, snow, scarves, boys hunting all day, coffee, warm house, days to herself (boys like to go with Brandon and his brother has been going so 4 is full!!! :), house clean, supper in the oven and sitting in my chair around 8 oclock!!! However this momma is also enjoys the warm sunshine, spring air and being outside without frozen nose hairs!!!!
We are going to embrace this next week of cold weather, and lots of snow and see what the world throws our way!  Will the groundhog see his shadow?????

Friday!!

Well Friday morning started at 5:40 as I went out to check the sheep/lambs in the barn, and yes it was COLD!!!  Two new lambs had been born between 2:00 and 5:40 and they were frozen!  Yes one of them felt like they had ice cubes for ears, so I swipe them both and in to the bathtub they go!  I get our hair dryer and get to work, they couldn't even hold heads up because they were frozen.  I left them and continued my morning and by that time it was 6:30.  Well I need to leave for work by 7:00, therefore it wasn't going to happen so I called and told them I would be there later, like around 11:00!  Meanwhile Brandon had worked on the sewer Thursday and he could fix the problem so told me to call Roto Rooter and they were coming mid morning, also Tucker had fallen up the steps Thursday evening and the puppy was limping on her leg!  Sheww, so I warmed the lambs, got them to eat, took the puppy to the vet, meanwhile the hot water heater quite working because of the wind, and I got the boys on the bus to school!!!  I get home from vet, chopped ice for cows, took lambs back to the barn, took a shower (thankfully had enough hot water) and headed to Memphis for a half day of teaching.  Dad handled the Roto Rooter man and things were going up!!  I continue through the day and dream of a drink!!!!
3:15- I leave school to head home and see about animals and continue my day!!   I pull down the hill and see an accident!  I stopped behind the traffic and look around, there I see a 1st grader in the car by herself her mother is an RN and had ran to help!  Therefore I sat with her for 15 minutes until her mom got back so she wouldn't be scared!!
I am here to say the big man above works in mysterious ways, he was showing me that it could always be worse to pull up my big girl pants and do my best... that is all we can do!!  So I smile, be thankful I am able to fight the farm life, glad the dogs leg was not broken, the lambs are still alive, the sewer smell is gone, drains are draining and the wind changed directions so the hot water heater is working.

Baby its cold outside!

I am not sure if anyone noticed but, brrrrr it is cold!!!  We are enjoying the time spent indoors with blankets, t.v, and noise, however we are also lambing and doing daily outdoors chores and damn it is bitter when we go out to check sheep!  

School has been delayed and cancelled several days and that is okay!  Trust us we love snow days!  So a funny, last week snow day on Tuesday I walk in to Tayden's room ( yes just 9 years old).
Mom says , "Tayden you don't have school today!"
Tayden exclaimed ," Hell ya!"
Mom questioned, "What did you just say?"
Tayden resonds, " Umm, mom I meant to say Heck ya!"
Mom reminds, " If you just cussed in front of me then that means you must cuss when we are not around."
He reassured me that he didn't and he wouldn't say it again.

Sigh - I couldn't get mad because I totally felt the same way and we talked it over without soap in mouth because it sounded so natural!!!!  Yes I know he is just 9 and welcome to the honest growing up!! 

Brandon chuckled quietly when I told him!  So have a great week!

New Addition

We have a new addition to our family.  We do not have a name picked out yet, however she if fun to watch and we still let here sleep and spend alone time in her tub (for now)! 

We hope to keep here, unlike some that have been unlucky!!!

New Babies!!!!

Yes we have new babies... in the barn!!  We began a week ago tomorrow and we now have 7 baby lambs!!!  We are home today and awesome farmers when we don't have to go to that think called a day JOB!!!!!   It is kinda fun to get daily chores done in the house by noon, and be ready to nap before the afternoon outside chores are ready!!!!  So here is to another relaxed day at the Bish's when boys don't have school, neither does mom, and dad got sent home because there is too much wind!! Gotta love the wii, naps, and babies in the barn!!!!  Pictures of the cute little lives soon!

New Paint

Well it has been very cold.... as we all know and we were all home on Sunday and Monday at our house!!  It is cold enough even BLB was inside with us, which he usually finds something else to do after a few hours, but not Sunday, instead he decided to get rid of  a shelving unit in our dining room/entry way!  Which means, new paint, and well a slight change.  See what you think, I got new dishes for Christmas and the dining room/kitchen are going to get a overhaul with paint.

Yes teal and red is the color scheme with white trim!  So far so good and the 4th/last wall yet to be painted, carmel!  Let me know your opinion???  Two teal wall and one red with red bookshelf in the middle!
