humbling

I once again was in on a humbling experience through those large doors at SCR-1. We had preschool screening today and well, yes we got to enjoy all varieties of children, but there is always some that tug at your heart, no matter how well you know him/her/or them. I was almost finished with the day and yes it was 3:00 if not later and yes my mouth was tired from talking and my bottom was sore from sitting (i didn't know i could talk to much and i never sit for more than 20 minutes at a time) I was talking to a parent about a troubled child and yes the family doesn't have much either that I know of. The other adults done with screening were giving away some of the snacks we had brought, to empty the food room. So here is the story:
The little girls says, "mom, can I have some pizza?"
Mom replies, " I don't have any."
Little girl, "Can I go ask that lady?", Mom replies, "yes you may." Mrs. Bish involves herself and says "yes go ask that lady"- meanwhile I turn around with my loud outside teacher voice and holler " Mrs. %&#$@$, *&%$@# has something to ask you."
The little girl asked the soft hearted helpful teacher if she could have a piece of pizza and of course she gets her a piece! Also since there were 6 whole pizzas left, she also gives the girl a pizza to take to her mommy.
The mom says, " oh that was very nice." I continue the exit and they put their coats on to leave! I may have that child in my room next year, and I may not, they may still be at SCR-1 and they may not.

It is sometimes sad to see what choices the little minds we teach have to deal with. It wasn't the girls fault she was hungry, it wasn't the girls fault her mom has mad a bad choice in past life.

I get ready to go home and talk a little more about this family, and the more I found out about 2:00 when they came, the little girl had told this same soft hearted, loving teacher that she hadn't had lunch, therefore what were the chances of her having supper?

It is amazing to think of all the things we have, that other don't.

Retail Therapy

On Thursday I had the day off of work, Doctor appointment @ 9 = sick day. Well I went to the doctor for a check-up and then the rest of the day the doctor prescribed retail therapy and a nap. Well, I shopped and enjoyed myself until about 1 then I came home and took in the cans, yes 900 of them, I will let you do the math. Then I returned home and to the normal routine. The doctor and I were talking about not going back to work and I found it entertaining, that he said that. Also I would like to call it a Mental Health Day! Whatever it is called it was great and the kids at school seemed very energetic today. I am ready for Pre-school screening tomorrow from8-5!!! lol

Happy Birthday!!

We had a grand time with lots of family and friends on Sunday to Celebrate the 3 year old B-day!

This is the cake that his mother designed. Hopefully you can tell it is a dinosaur! He loved it!!

He also had a great time with the presents. How can I forget the look on their face when they realize everyone is there for them and they are that special. He had a couple of uncles and grandpa that continued to hide his presents and he continued to find them and put them back in the pile.

Happy Birthday Tucker Ross Bish!!!!

Well

We are gearing up for a big weekend at our house. Brandon turned 28 yesterday and we celebrated by eating supper at home and going to bed early. Tonight we have two places to be and we are not taking our children with us, we will do our best at attending the 8th Annual FurBearers Banquet in Ottumwa and a birthday party for Aunt Annette in Bloomfield. It should be a challenge, but I think we can do it.
Then tomorrow we have to celebrate another Birthday at our house and get the treats made for Denny's! Yes I need to continue some house work and cake baking. Have a great weekend, I will try to have pictures on Monday!!

Well

Well..... there will be no pictures posted. The orphan at our house has moved to lamb heaven. I believe it was probably sick from the time I started with it. It has been one week and we enjoyed her while she was alive. The story I will go with was that on Monday when it was very nice outside the lovely orphan followed our flock out across the pond and when I got back home, the little orphan was in the pond, well almost on the edge and she was wet. I don't believe that helped her pneumonia out any either. I don't know she had pneumonia but that is my guess. Anyway, enough of that.

I am enjoying the sun today and hope to enjoy it more at recess. We are looking forward to the nice warm evening and trying to decide if we are going to fun night for Tayden or not, it will be hard to leave home, when it is 60 degrees outside.
Have a great day, I will quit rambling.

News

Well as some of you already know. We have a new joy in our daily life, sometimes a pain to mommy and sometimes I think, "what was I thinking". We have a bottle lamb, we kept some first time mommies and they are not very loving. This orphans mother chose to jump out of the pen the day we put them in together. Therefore, I am feeding the lamb and the mother is NOT!! We are hoping for it to be a PROJECT for Tayden and a little responsibility!! Wish us luck and pictures to come.

Rainbows and Clovers

Wow, we are getting in the mood for St. Patricks Day at school. I do enjoy this time of year, both at home and at school. Thinking of being outside till 7 (we have been the last two nights), making fun bright things at school, feeling the warm sunshine outside at recess, getting ready for the leprachaun at school and all and all sunshine and warmth!!!!
However we made collage rainbows and clovers today in class and it took its sweet time, but it is fun!!!
Happy warm sunny day!!!!!

NAP

It has been along time since I have taken a 2 hour nap in the middle of the afternoon, in my bed, WITHOUT interruption. I usually squeeze in naps with the boys or on the couch or for about an hour or so. Not today, nope I slept for actually 1hour and 45 minutes in my bed for a long nap. I am so thankful.
Do you want to know why?
Well my husband who is an avid coyote hunter, granted the wish of Tayden to take him with him today. My father in law came by the house to gather the group of hunters and he is so SOFT that he couldn't tell Tucker no! Therefore they all left to go hunting. I called to offer to go pick Tucker up about 1 and he had been rescued by Grandma already. (Papa Dickie is a major Softy). When I called to offer to go get my child on Sunday afternoon, Grandma Lisa said, "No we are fine, we are cleaning and why don't you just plan on coming over for supper then you can get him." I said well ok.
Yes this afternoon I have accomplished a lot.

A Nap
Laundry Done and Put away
Grade Cards complete
Reading Files complete
Dishes done
Thanks grandma and grandpa, and daddy (the oldest one is still hunting) for keeping the boys, I needed a nap after we played cards way to late last night at a friends house. I think I am ready for this week(parent/teacher conferences in SCR-1)

Tayden

Well on the way to town this morning in our normal, Saturday morning adventure, groceries, trash and Dollar General. I think every Saturday morning we make that trip or at least 90% of the time. Well on the way Tayden says, "mom, I am ready for the snow to be gone and the mud to come up, so I can play in it." I was not suprised at all to hear him, but he truly is a mud magnet. He loves mud and last night we went out to play and instead of the snow, they tried to find the most mud they could. He has also been in a small (tiny) amount of trouble at school and yes guess why? He was in the mud when he shouldn't have been. He is all boy and sorry Mrs. Miller but the mud will always find him! Therefore this afternoon we are going to go out and play in the MUD!!!!!

Wednesday

With a slow start to my week, (monday I was home sick). I am now ready for the week. School seems to be getting the lovely flu bug and other bugs, kids are dropping, hopefully they don't drop much faster.
At home last night we gave the boys a little education on the farm. We worked the lambs and got them ready to be healthy lambs this spring. (lets hope the sheep market is good). The boys did an excellent job. They were outside with us from 4:45-6:45 and they were troopers. The two of them stood in the lot with the lambs that had been worked and the lambs were very sore. Well Tucker would try to pet one and of course they would jump up and then he would turn around and look like wow, what happened. Lets hope the sunshine helps those 16 (total count) hurting lambs today.
Other than that all else is well. Hope the sunshining day fills you all with smiles.
