- November - Tayden Bish turned 5 - We enjoyed Thanksgiving
- December - We had a great Christmas season- Mom turned 25 on the 25th- We spent the night at Rathbun resort for Huggins Christmas-

Now for the New Years Resolution
- Loose some weight- yes I have to or clothes may not be an option
- Try not to loose my cool - in school and at home- i will try to be more patient and explain things better
- Get Tucker heathy- get allergies under control and get his ears fixed
- Get Tucker potty trained and let go of his thumb sucking habit (these are just goals for 2010)
- Get Tayden ready for Kindergarten
- Keep my daily life rolling and keep our family healthy and happy!!!!
- Finish Tayden and Tuckers quilts
- Keep blogging

With all of those things I hope all of you have a great and happy beginning to 2010!!!

We went to the doctor today and...

guess who had red ears? You guessed Tucker. I know I blog about him a lot, but my goodness every time we turn around his ears are red and we are on medicine. Therefore we went to the allergy doctor in Osky and he says two weeks of medicine and we are coming back, then we may do something majorly different. Thank goodness we like him and he is easy to get along with. Hope your day is going great and by the way we have black twins in the barn.

We have a new...

Yes after Christmas and all the gifts, the new puppy, spending a day at the waterpark and staying home for a full day (or we are planning on it). We have a new baby lamb. I was shocked because on my way to the mailbox I heard something and knew it was not a ewe and as I walked out to check out the sheep, I see a new tiny baby lamb, they are so cute and fun to see. Well I better go out and try to see what is going on in the barn.. I will try to post a picture of the new lamb later.

p.s - there are many updated posts about Christmas -please go back and check them out, I have been busy the last few minutes - okay hour!!

Merry Christmas to All and to all a good night!

As we are preparing to go to Grandmas for Christmas Eve, the excitement is here. I wanted to take a moment and wish you all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! We will celebrate from now till Sunday night then be ready for some great house cleaning on Monday!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM TWO EXCITED BOYS & their parents.

Purple Sugar

In the morning routine this morning, I was making cinnamon rolls, yes a gift for Christmas and I said "Boys we need to run to town and get brown sugar, because we need it to make the monster cookies." Not thinking much I finish my kneading(hopefully done correctly, but the gift is only for the brother-in-laws so oh well.) I finish, change my clothes, (yes running to town in sweats with no make-up) and I am getting Tucker dressed and he asked like alway"going to Papa Dickies house?" no tucker and his reply back was "get purple sugar". I said well no we are going to get brown sugar. To cute of a story had to share. Now we must get to town while the dough rises.

Christmas Vacation

Well as most of you know, we are officially on Christmas Break!!! Whew who, hooray, wippee!! Those are all the things I thought when I woke up this morning. I am excited to spend the next two weeks with family and yes we got some quality family time in over the weekend. The four original, their spouses and all 9 kids played cards at the cabin with our choice of beverage on Saturday night. Sunday we spent two hours at church(the kids program- yes all 19 of us were there.) Followed by lunch at moms in celebration of some rockstars star birthday that is only a few days away. It was fun and I will admit I don't think any of us were to bothered by 1:00 on Sunday. Even though we heard the champion card players gloat (BLB and LKL)!! It was fun and it was fun to see the kids play without to much whinning- they made it a good 3 hours.

Back

I took a short break from the blog world. Also I am now wandering what to blog about-
-that we deer hunted all weekend and I did end up killing a coyote on Sunday evening 140 yard with my muzzleloader- thanks-
-that we have 1 1/2 days to work until the 4th of January
- that my birthday is only 8 days away
-that I am not done x-mas shopping
- that we have a new 7 week old puppy
- that every child in my life is very excited for x-mas , by the way that is 26 kids,
-that I sometimes wish I could bring a student home with me and fix some things (or try)
-that Tayden was in his first Christmas Program on Tuesday and we had a great day
-that I have a new cell phone
- that I am as excited as my children for Christmas

Anyway I will try to get some pictures on the blog in the next couple of days --

I have got it

I have got it the perfect thing that I need as a mother of two rambuncious boys (sorry mother for the spelling.), the teacher of 24 lovely students with 4 inches of snow, two weeks till Christmas and early out, mouthy sister on the way home and the youngest of 4 siblings. I NEED A STRIPED SHIRT. I think I need a referee shirt - look out Mike Hampton here I come!!!- or maybe I should just wear my shirt at home.

Now the story from home, that is somewhat entertaining is that in the bathtub tonight, I caught glimpse of a rubber duck flying towards Tayden's head. Low and behold rubber duck to the forehead and a large red bumb occurred after Tucker was in trouble for throwing something at Tayden I discussed with Tayden that a rubber duck couldn't have hurt that bad. Little do you know if I would not have intervened the whole situation would have gotten worse. Gotta love to boys who love to get even.

Snow or No

Will it snow as much as it is suppose to tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday? Will we have school? Will we have the Christmas Program Thursday Night? Will all 25 kids bring snowboots and snowpants to school tomorrow?
There are many questions up in the air, that only time will tell. I will be awaiting for the morning to come and see what is happening similar to what will be happening tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday morning. Hope you enjoy the first snow, because we did.!!
Happy snow!!

Tis the Season

We are in the season of Christmas, Deer Hunting, staying inside and keeping warm. This is the opening weekend of Deer Season, so yes you guessed it Daddy is on the mission for a deer. The boys and I are in the humor to stay home, stay warm and play, clean, eat, sew, and maybe even try to get caught up, or partially caught up in scrapbooking.

The biggest mission has been accomplished. My lovely mother and I worked on the quilt from last year's sewing club and got it finished tying. However there was a small problem, while I was tying before mom was there I was doing dishes or something in the middle of it and guess who found the scissors. Guess who cut a little of the quilt, in the corner, but still cut it. Yes you only need one guess - Tucker. I was angry with him and upset, then remembered it was only a quilt for us to go on our bed and if we had to remember that Tucker cut it when he was two and that is why the corner has some issues. Also it was not life or death and it would be okay, so we will fix it to the best of our ability(my lovely mother took it to fix and bind the outside)and go on with life.

Good Luck Deer Hunters and hope you all have a great weekend!!

AGAIN

Yes again, Tucker has red ears and more medicine. I believe it was November 10th when I last posted that Tucker had double ear infection.
-Today the comment was, well the one is really red all the way around the ear canal, we got drops to put in his ears, yes they are an antibiotic and steriod. Do you know how easy it is to put 4 drops in a boys ears twice a day? Yes wish us luck. I am hoping we come up with an answer that keeps us out of the doctors office.

- On the positive note Tayden only had a virus! Hope the Happy Holiday cheer is keeping you all well and happy!!!

Awesome, Mommy

The sound in two little boys voice when we put up the Christmas lights tonight. They don't care that they aren't perfect. They don't care that we need two more strands and they need to be stretched out, or that they are sagging because their mom isn't very tall (it is okay dad, I don't know where those short legs came from). They simply think it is great that we have Christmas lights outside.

I had a great day today- I didn't go to work, instead I had a doctors appt. and I spent the day doing errands all by myself, with the help of Grandma Chuck. She was a great companion- no complaining, no vote for lunch and she truthfully didn't care what we did. She spent Thanksgiving weekend with her sister Margaret in Omaha and was due in from the train at 10:09, yes I was there waiting to help her. I met her at the train and carried her luggage, we went to the lovely doctor, she rested in the hot sunny car, we then checked out Wal-Mart and grocery shopped. She truly is an easy companion at her young spry age. I enjoyed the afternoon with Grandma and hope she gets a little rest this evening.

- I wish all the rest of you get the same lovely comment- "AWESOME MOMMY"!!!!!!- when you Deck the Halls this season.

Good Helper

Yes Tucker and I enjoyed a good morning of shopping. He was a very good little boy(santa might find him) while we were braving the crowds, however we didn't go anywhere to crazy to begin with, Tractor Supply was pretty relaxed and Wal-Mart wasn't to bad about 7:30. We found some things that we went for and some things that we needed-or I thought we needed or someone needed. It was a successful day and I can say I am about done with the shopping for Christmas I think. I need to do a little more but, not really to many. I also am thankful that Papa Dickie took Tayden home with them yesturday and he hasn't been home since about 10:00 am Thursday. We are planning a relaxed weekend and I am working on cleaning the house, (I thought I needed a break).

Have a Great Weekend.

Happy Birthday Tayden Lee Bish

Not sure if he is picking his nose or thinking"I get to blow them out!!"

I really would like your opinion on the cake let me know what you think????

He was really excited opinioning all the gift, they were somewhat scattered.

Tayden Lee Bish turns 5 years old today. It is amazing how fast these last five years have went and what all we have accomplished. Tayden is a fun, loving, energetic little boy. He does what he is suppose to most of the time. Yesturday moring we were discussing the birthday party and I asked him what he would do if theire was no Batman Cave for his birthday? He said, "well I will say that's ok, maybe when I turn 6." I responded with some kids don' t get any toys or presents, so just be glad you are going to have some to unwrap.
As normal he got more than enough birthday presents. He was a good little opener and did a great job with the cake. Happy 5th Birthday Tayden Bish!

Thursday, November 12, 2009

I have gave my best.

I have gave my best at creating the birthday cake, by request from Tayden who will soon be 5. He wanted a deer with an arrow sticking out and blood, and a little boy in a tree who shot the buck with a bow. I have just accomplished the goal and we will see what others think tomorrow and I will post pictures soon for your opinions. What stories do you think he listens to mine or dads??

to TOUGH to tell

Well as most of you know I have a little boy that seems to catch being sick very, very easy. Tucker is a little boy who is almost to tough to tell if he is sick or I don't know, but he is always a happy boy and when he ran a fever last Thursday I thought yep it is the crap, he was over it by Saturday and Sunday night he had another fever, Sunday pm and some of Monday, so he got to spend Friday, Monday and half of Today with Grandma Chuckie (thank goodness for her). Therefore I decided to make a doctors appointment and see if there was a problem. Well yes he has bilateral acute otitis media yes that is a fancy word for two ear infections. One is red and the other ear has fluid behind it. So I wonder if I need to contact the allergy doctor and get his opinion on the situation or go on and try not to worry. He seems okay, but a little sleepy well now I know why.

We are also gearing up for a big bash on Friday night. Somebody has a birthday Saturday.

Do you know?

I couldn't resist this picture of the happy pumpkin carver.

Do you know how great it feels to have a co-worker that is on the same page most all the time. No matter whether it is a child with some serious needs or a child who is having a "boy" moment or a child who is well great most all the time. I work with great people who just -handle- things when there is not much for lesson plans, or I need help deciding what should be done or who should do what. The co-workers at my end of the building are very helpful and nice. We have a great place to work.
A special thanks to my co-worker, party helper, friend, person to vent to when things just don't go the way I think they need to, or vice versa. It does make my job easier- well I think it does!

Have a great beautiful weekend.

Sleepy.

Sleepy. Tucker Ross is very sleepy today. He woke up with a fever of 102 and it has come down some however I am a little nervous he has only been awake a total of about 2 1/2 hours all morning. That is not normal at all and he just lays on the couch and sleeps. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon. I am having a restful day of sewing and laundry, and possibly a nap.

As for Tayden he was pumped today, because he got to take his lunch to school for the first time. I am also a little nervous, he is riding a different bus, because he is getting off at home, not Denny's .

Hope you are having a great Thursday!! Tomorrow if Friday!!

Somedays

Somedays the students are great-but not today.
Somedays all of my students are clean and ready for the week.
Somedays my school days are very fun and wild- like Friday.
Somedays I worry what happens when some of them go home.
Somedays I wonder if they will eat supper or breakfast.
Somedays I think that it is a great job.
Somedays I know, that even the smallest things mean the most to them.
Somedays I think why even get attached.
Somedays I wonder why this year is so much more emotional bothering to me than last year.
Somedays I WILL JUST DO THE BEST I CAN and know it must work.
SOMEDAYS IT IS ALL OUT OF MY CONTROL.
-thank you god for giving me love and patience for all children in this world, not matter, race, gender, size, knowledge, or behavior.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from the 2 cowboys. They called themselves cowboy and bull rider.

We are excited in the car!!

The bull rider is ready. He had is heart set.

As a mother of 2 lovely boys, I thought wow yes we can be Cowboy and Indian how cute, great costume, sounds great, until I asked who was going to be the Indian? They both said nope, and Tucker instantly replied with Mommy Tucker Bull Rider. Therefore I had to remember that Halloween was about them and it didn't really matter if they weren't the most creative, they were happy. Have a great weekend.

Beds

What a cute little boy sleeping in his newly formed bed.

I rearranged our bedroom today. It is amazing how different it looks and I hate to say it but, I think our bedroom looks smaller this way. We will see how it works for a while.

Yes this is the boys bedroom. I think it looks similar to an orphanage, however the beds were bunked and the top bed never got slept on. We are hoping that they will stay in their own beds and sleep longer, because they won't be wrestling each other.

Yes all of these things were accomplished today. I have had a productive 2 days at home, hopefully this family stays healthy.

Monday, October 26, 2009

Vacation

Yes I am on vacation, from school that is, I am home getting things done or well some things done. We have got Tuckers hair cut, sewn (a little), I am trying to decide what the next project should be other than finishing the quilt blocks yes all 3 of them.
If you didn't know SCR-1 is out of school until Wednesday due to flu illness. Hopefully we will go back and get the routine established again. Have a great day.

Friday

This Friday was better than most Fridays. We were told at the beginning of October, if we could get our Parent Teacher Conferences done this week then we would not have to come to school on Friday! Well, most of us took that to its fullest and stayed late a couple of night to prevent being there today. So instead of work, my mother, Tucker and I went to Kirksville to shop (well for groceries and others). We had a successful day- Thanks mom. She was helpful with the 2 year old and she bought lunch!!! I also took the plunge and was vaccinated for H1N1 today. Smart or not I do not know. Have a great weekend.

Rice

White rice, did you know it has a new purpose, well at least in our house, feed for the cows. Saturday morning about 6:50, boys got up and came to lay with me. Great so after a few minutes of giggling and fighting I said, why don' t you to go play in the playroom and I will get up in a minute. Ok says Tucker and Tayden follows him. Well when I got up at 7:00 they had managed to dump a whole box of white rice on the floor in the playroom, and loving Tucker says feed cows mommy, Tucker feed cows and Tayden says, "Mom Tucker did it he dumped the rice."
At this point I think- well they might as well enjoy feeding the cows, because there is already a mess. The mess only grew, because the rice got moved in trucks, gravity wagons and all kind of toys-and yes moved into the dining room, living room, and kitchen. They thought it was fun and after our weekly trip to town, we swept the house. Yeah, my cleaning for the weekend is done.

To or not to...

The question races through my head. To vaccinate my two loving boys or not to. I have a 2 and 4 year old- the targeted area for H1N1 so therefore do I vaccinate them to protect them or do I not vaccinate them to protect them (of the things that may happen.) It has been a great debate in my own brain all day. After talking to a great pediatric allergy doctor- I wish I could remember the big name that impressed me 1 year ago. He suggested my sick kid (Tucker age 2) be vaccinated. Also the health department suggests the 4 year old be vaccinated also. Therefore after 1 doctor told me to, and 2 students of mine(doctors kids) are being vaccinated at school tomorrow, I have chosen to VACCINATE my two loving boys. Hopefully I am making the right choice, their dads comment was why not? I would love to hear all other opinions, suggestions, or comments!!!

Thumb

If any of you know the youngest boy at our house, yes he sucks his thumb, or should I say he suckED his thumb. Yes we are exciting because he hasn't sucked his thumb for about a week!!! Big news to us. He might still get to when he is in bed, but at least he doesn't walk around with his thumb in his mouth and his hand in his hair!!! Potty training here we come!

Rough

Tayden Bish was in some rough shoes last night. He can piddle *&# around with the best of the piddlers at supper time. His 2 year old brother was almost finished with supper when he was only 2 bits into it. Therefore his father told him if he continued to piddle or @*# around he would have to eat in the basement in the dark. Well, yes he ended up in the entry way in the dark eating his supper until it was finished. After that they had baths and things are going well, until MOM decides it is time for letters. A-E only 5. Well after working or playing for about 10 minutes I trade kids with Brandon and him and Tayden work on letters. Well after about 35 minutes Tayden couldn't remember D to save his rear, and his dad was loosing patience. I was impressed they lasted that long. Poor Tayden had a few, snap "pay attention, are you trying, get your feet off the chair comments". I sure hope is attention is better at preschool.
Therefore life in Tayden's shoes was a little rough last night, but amazing enough he is still full of energy tonight. They do snap back very very well!!!!

As to the relaxing weekend, yes it was and I think it was needed!!!

Saturday, October 10, 2009

Looking forward to...

I am looking forward to a weekend full on nothing. We have nothing planned, nowhere we have to be (except teaching Sunday School), Nobody to answer to. It will be a great weekend to well, clean maybe, sew, cook, bake and do whatever the boys want to. I am sure we will have an adventure sometime, because we don't have too many dull moments in this world.

Worlds Meanest Mom

Tonight I have tried to prove a point we will see. After picking up Briley (a niece) in town, since I was in town and she was done with dance. We got home and I started supper. Tayden wanted to go outside to play and I told him that was fine, he is good about staying right outside and playing. Well he wanted me to move the car out of the garage, I said "it will be dark in a bit, just play in the driveway and ride your bike. Well he continued to ask please, thinkink I would get tired of him asking and give in. NO, I said NO. He continued. So the one thing I have never done is soap. He got just a little and you would have thought I cut off his leg. But when I asked why he got it he said, I kept asking after you said NO, more than once. We will see if this parenting skill, or torture makes an impact. For those of you wandering he is good at saying, please, please, please over and over until it bothers me. The answer is no should be the last of the please!! In my opinion.

Family

Above is my dad's youngest brother and family.
The two girls belong to the lady who passed a few weeks ago at only 35. We were glad for them to be a part of our weekend. They are good girls.
Their aunt is also my aunt.

This is my dad's sisters family.
None of them live close, only his sister the girls live in different states.
Missouri and Illinois

Grandma Chuck is in the middle of all grandkids.

My dad's lovely family!!!! We were missing two hunters.

These are the 14 great grandkids!!! Wow they are energetic. The oldest will be 11 and the youngest will be 1 in December.

We had a great weekend of fun. Thanks to all that attended. It was fun to sit and chat, play frisbee golf, paint pumpkins, scavenger hunt, eat, eat and eat some more, count kids and entertain the young and old. With a large family it is getting harder to get all of us here at the same time, but we have managed to do it one more time!!!

We also had a day of fun with chilly weather with the Creath side of the family. Saturday afternoon we took pictures and hopefully I will have some good ones to update our walls and give for Christmas!!!! I will let you know when those are ready to look at.

Heart

I know you are tired of hearing about my job and all the lovely things that go with it, but it seems to be consuming my energy and thought most of the time. So reflecting on the week. Well, why is it some days my HEART is huge and other days I need a bigger heart. On Thursday I needed to shrink it at school. The little one in my room that needs all I can give him at all times (just one of the 4 that really really need me all of the time) got sent home, due to hitting in lunch. I feel as though it was my fault and there surely was something I could have done, however some kids no better, he did not, but after 2 hitting incidents it was time for him to have a major consequence. Therefore I will let it go and know, no matter how long he is with me, I will do my best.

We had a positive day in KA today!!!!!!!! We even got a sticker, for being quiet in the hall!!!!!!!!! (thanks Mrs. Beeler for finding the positive when there is one!)

Thanks

After going to church yesturday, I remember that it is okay to do something wrong as long as you admit and ask for forgiveness. Whew I am okay, for yelling at my students (every other minute), screaming at home for the fast footsteps running (sprinting) through our house, for saying mean things about others to entertain myself once in a while, for eating two pieces of chocolate cake yesturday.

The message at church talked about how it was okay to do these things, we all can be this way and the correct thing to do is notice and ask for him to forget those things and above all that Jesus Loves Me.

And yes I will be okay, I will try not to yell from 8-3 tomorrow then when I get home, does it really matter if the kids run through the house.

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Beaters

There was a small problem this afternoon. I made a chocolate cake. (My goal is not to eat it all by myself. ) When it was time to lick the beaters, guess who didn't have one to lick. Tucker. Tayden really likes to lick them along with their father who enjoys licking the bowl and spoon also. So the softy mother chose to let Tucker have the spoon. That way I felt it was even!! Plus the big brother did offer to share.

Holy Cow

SEWING!!
Literally Holy Cow, I am beginning a new quilt, well actually two. This is the story. A new year of sewing club, so a new project. We are doing a block quilt as a club therefore we will two 9 blocks then conform our own quilt with our own material. It should be fun, however I chose the material to do a farm quilt (hint the block above) then realized that should be for my boy #2 and that isn't fair boy #1 should have a quilt first, therefore I will do two at a time. Wow and the cows in Tuckers first block may be a bit toooooo much. Let me know your opinion, I am going to go get started on Tayden's outdoor quilt. More pictures at the work unfolds, hopefully!!

Thank you...

Stage 1 of the pizza sauce...

Stage 2 of the pizza sauce...

Final Stage of Pizza Sauce.

Thank you Dickie and Lisa for the tomatoes, we will be able to have homemade pizza this winter. 10 pints of pizza sauce and 5 quarts of whole tomatoes. YEAH!!!!
Also thank you to the workers who helped load our barn full of 250ish bales of hay today. The equipment that was used and labor!!!!

peace

Something that doesn't usually happen until my two energetic boys at home go to bed. Well it is 5:49 and I am in peace or should I say quiet. My husband is mowing hay, so therefore both boys wanted to ride in the tractor. He took them about 45 minutes ago and I have gotten some things done, along with I believe the last sweet corn of the year picked. I believe it is about time to disc the garden and start begging for some fertilizer.
Happy fall,
evening to all.

By the way I also enjoy this time of the year!!!

Pound, pound, pound

When we got home today we were getting a new roof. The crew of odd looking people were on the roof, they just finished a little bit ago. Good news it is done, they are gone, it is quiet. We are glad it got accomplished. Bad news- the dish has been turned a little and in my husbands sake, lets hope it works after bit. Well we made it through another day at school and the boys seem as good as gold tonight!!!

Snotty

Everybody at this house is snotty, not sick just sniffling and plugged in the head.

I get a free day today, because Tucker the wonderful child ran a temperature last night until about 10, plus I didn't have a babysitter today = mom taking the day off. I had prepared to do the normal, doctor visit and rocking chair all day, but that isn't the case. The fever broke and we are in full swing today.

Also thank you Grandma Chuck for helping me can 12 quarts of tomato juice and 7 pints of salsa last night, she truly is a champ!!!!

We are headed to town to buy medicine, vitamins and stuff to get rid of our %$#*!!!!

Thankful...

I spend a lot of time complaining about my well behaved students at school this year. (for those of you that don't know that is stretching it.. BIG TIME)
Therefore I am going to be thankful for the things I have instead of complain.
Thankful for
Two loving, energetic boys,
a loving and happy husband,
wonderful teacher aids to help,
caring and supportive title one teacher,
helpful and giving special ed. teacher,
co-workers who have some of the same troubles,
applesauce (my savior today) the one thing a student wanted and I had it.....
Dt. Mountain Dew
Food
my house, car and food.
a wonderful overall family!

I have been positive and thankful therefore have a great next couple of days!!!!
I am going to try to be thankful everytime I think I have a challenge.

R & R

Rest and Relaxation is what has been going on at this house over the long weekend. I think that is maybe what we needed, we haven't done a lot other than rest, relax, laundry, dishes and yes I cleaned, but not anything to overwhelming, we are ready for a new week (good attitudes and caught up -for now.) Hope for the rest of you to have a great week.

Zucchini

Why is it that Zucchini is so plentiful. I have numerous amounts, and I have gotten rid of all but one this morning. I froze some shredded, froze some cubed, froze some blended and froze some Zucchinisauce. Applesauce but zucchini instead of apples. I think it will be okay, but I will let you know what the boys think soon, they could think I am crazy. I am questioning if it will all be okay when I thaw it, but then again who really cares, it is no different than it going to waste right now. I think I have completed my green bean canning and I have a total of 44 quarts I believe. Sadly I haven't been able to do any tomatoes, oh well I can buy them I guess. Well that is all for now, HAVE A GREAT RESTFUL 3 DAYS!!!!

Did the bus forget us?

The answer to the question is yes. As we stood out at Denny's on this chilly morning we watched the bus go by, hoping it would stop on the way back bye, nope it sure didn't. Good new mom made a call to transportation and the bus came back. Tayden Lee Bish had his first day of preschool today. He didn't even look back for a wave, he was to excited..

Please pray for my Aunt Lori's sisters family. My Aunt Lori, Uncle Jimmy's (dad brother) wife sister had a heart attack Tuesday night in her yard and she is no longer on earth as we know. She was the mother of two young girls I believe 9 and 4.

24

In 24 hours daddy will be home (hopefully). Brandon has been gone since Thursday evening since about 5:00! Wow that is a long 4 days for two little boys and their mom. He is in Texarkana wild hog hunting, and we have talked to him and he has killed 2 for sure!! We are glad he is having fun, but sad because he hasn't been home. However I got a lot accomplished today we didn't leave the house and Grandma Nikki came out. Thanks to her help I even got a nap, mowed the yard and cleaned house, graded lovely math tests, and fixed lunch and supper. We will post some pictures of the hogs hopefully in the next few days. Daddy is suppose to be home tomorrow evening!!!!!! YEAH

Please keep my friend in your prayers who just lost her dad at age 61.

Amish

If I were Amish I would already be in bed.
If I were Amish I wouldn't have a blog.
If I were Amish I would have 3 more kids.
If I were Amish I wouln't be teaching in a public school.
If I were Amish I would have more than 1, 5 gallon bucket of green beans to snap and can.
If I were Amish I would be...

Well that was fun, this blog started because 1 hour ago we were without electricity and I thought in bed by 8 could be possible because it is going to get dark. I am glad I am not amish by the way, I enjoy blogging, only having 2 boys, snapping a few green beans, the public school (well somedays not sure)I enjoy teaching. Those Amish have a special place in the world. (my husband prefers not the road)

Have a great FRIDAY!!!!!! - I am excited we get to wear jeans.

P.S. - I have a prayer request- A friend/teacher/new mother to a boy/- of mine just lost her father after a few years of throat cancer. She is going to have a rough few weeks these next couple of weeks, keep her in our prayers she is going through a lot!!!

What to blog...

As I am thinking what to blog about< I guess I will blog about being a healthy person well enough to teach Kindergarten!! At this point that is one positive that is easy to find. I must say the job "training the 5 year olds for school" is going to be an ongoing challenge. However as I am healthy there are certain spots in my heart for every child- for which every child (or most) has had their very own challenge in life before the age of 5. So I keep hoping and praying for the love and patience for each one of those children as each day comes to an end and I feel exhausted, mentally from saying numerous times "our mouths are closed", "zip the lips" , "our voices are off", "get off of those urinals"! Yes these things are said numerouse times throughout my day..
I am not whinning because it was the job I chose in life, however I just hope and pray for enough love and energy with patience each day.

In the light of life, we went on a monarch catepillar hunt tonight and only found 1 - it will get to stay at home, hopefully a kindergartener will bring some for our classroom.
Have a great day!!

Purple Marker

Tucker found a fun toy. As I was doing dishes and went to change laundry, the boys were quiet pjs on, t.v on so they are watching t.v perfect. WRONG, Tucker- the lovely little boy was playing with a permanent purple marker. By the way purple is his favorite color that he calls everything so he said mom purple marker. He was trying to get the marker off with by washing his hands. All I can say is alcohol was close to getting it off, but the little boy will have a purple tent for a while. I am thankful it was skin and not a piece of furniture!!!

Just thought I would give you all some entertainment!!

Excited to say the least

Well we are about 1 hour away from going to meet Tayden's Preschool teacher. We get to go take our supplies and meet her sometime between 6 and 7. Tayden is very excited!!!
He wasn't so excited last night when we got the final shots - he says they hurt- but he was a true champ.

I am excited because tomorrow is Friday, that means 3 days down!!! Wow lots of energy these last two day - the kids, not me. Also we get to wear jeans and support the Tigers tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!!!

I am kind of like my cousin, Libby, is anyone out there reading my blog or is this soley for my own thinking purposes?

12 hours

In twelve hours I will be deep into the soft, energetic, mothering, caring, helping, patient, and wonderful self I can be when I have to be. Tomorrow is the very first day of Kindergarten for 25 lovely students in Scotland County and guess who (hopefully) the apple of their eye will be when May rolls around ME! It is somewhat amazing to me how scared, helpless, timid, shy, bashful those wonderful little soles can be the first 3 days of school.
Then the excitement is over and the real life school every day hits and they think not everything (but still most) is exciting.
As I fall asleep tonight wondering how many tears there will be, how many times I will say some beautiful name(s) of the students I think will be my challenge, how many chicken nuggets will be on the floor at lunch, how much ketchup each will have. Most Kindergarten kids have never been able to squirt their own ketchup. Look out!!!! So I need all of the luck I can get and hope for a great new year.

Up to Bat

Today is a day when I remember how good my dad is at placing all of his team members (children) at a task to get several things done. Last post was about mulit tasking like my mother, well my father obviously gets a lot of things accomplished also, he just gets helpers.
My sister Leslie was suppose to watch Lincolns kiddos for about 1 hour, this evening, but dad wanted Leslie and the girls to go help set up the camper at the state fair and be there tomorrow, then come home. So Leslie is going, by the way dad is suppose to golf on Wednesday nights, guess who he got to golf, another team member Brandon. He asked grandma Chuck if she would watch Lincolns kiddos, well mother thinks she might need help, so Lori gets to go help, because I will be home, by the way mother is playing tennis tonight, so she is out. So far Lindsay, Adam, and Blake are the team members on the bench, but you never know when they will be up to bat to accomplish another goal!!
We are headed to the State Fair in the morning - if I get things packed tonight. The boys are excited and I am too!!!!

27

Well the number 27 is our highlight of the day. Grandma Chuck and I canned 27 quarts of green beans before noon. (Grandma called to get me going at 7:50, she had been up for hours I am sure) Thank you Grandma for all your help. Also thanks to my in-laws for providing the green beans, since mine haven't produced any yet.

I am also thankful for my lovely mother today. She has taught me how to multi task well.
Things I have done since 7:50;
Canned 27 quarts of green beans
Started lime pickles to can in the morning- or at 9 pm
Went to town
took trash
grocery store stop
baked zucchini cake
made a dip
changed the laundry
patched a pair of pants for my lovely husband
picked up the house (we are having company tonight)

Wow - did anyone notice - I haven't taken a shower. Hopefully that happens before the company comes.

Hope you all have a great safe weekend!!!!!!!

FIVE DOWN

Yes I watched my brothers children today. He has 3 plus my 2 equals 5. It went very well they played and entertained each other. Mayson the 8 mo. old and youngest was a little scared I think, I just hope I didn't starve her. We made is successfully through the day without any major problems, just a few tears. The thing I didn't think I could do was get them all to sleep, but I did for about 1 hour. The oldest , Tayden 4 and Sydney 3, don't usually nap, but they did today. So I have named 3 the other 2 are the 2 year old boys Tucker and Hayden. Yes I am alive and doing well after my day in the life of my Aunt Lisa (she has five kids.)
Have a great day!!!

Innocense is best!

Yes this little boy that likes to read books and look at pictures all by himself, can be innocent! If you know him very well he tends to be a little rotten and wild we aren't sure why. (note the dust pan in the oven on Sunday)

Why is it somedays the boys wake up and have lots of energy and loud voices! (yes that would be today)

What is that?

Well we have had a good weekend! Thank you Grandma for watching the boys Saturday and all night! Brandon and I went to Summer Splash with some friends and had a great time!!!! We got home about 11 today and I thought we would have chicken nuggets and french fries then take a few naps! Well I start the oven, go outside to shuck some sweet corn, as I am shucking Tayden comes out yelling for me to come to the house.( I am thinking what now, your dad is in there) When I enter I could smell the smoke smell coming from the kitchen, instantly I am like WHAT IS IT? Brandon says well I don't know but it was blue. Yes there was something melted in the oven and it was blue and making a great aroma. So I think to myself get out the deep fat fryer, I have one and don't use it very often, I get it out and plug it in. (thinking okay no biggy I can use it) Then I notice it is smoking and making a great aroma itself, great so I unplug it and take it to the garage. Well by now the kitchen smells like a pile of roses and lunch is not even started. Plan C use the skillet, microwave the chicken nuggets, boil the corn all is good. I start the skillet with hot oil, get the nuggets done. (I am still peeling blue plastic off of the oven rack) The french fries become done, so I get the spatula to get them out pick up the skillet and oil spills on the hot burner. Oil burner = small fire. Oh #$@% I say, BRANDON get in here. Tayden is yelling oh no, what mom, crap dad. I grab the flour thinking grease fire use flour, spill the oatmeal and Brandon comes in to see the fire is out no big deal!!! I put things away and get the broom out of the cabinet to clean up the oatmeal. There is no dust pan, guess what the blue plastic was in the oven, melted.

We did eat lunch, I got it cleaned up Tayden was a big help he went to feed the chickens the scraps and dumped the bowl of scraps, at this point I said oh well it happens!!!

It is now 5:00 we have had naps and I think we are going fishing tonight. The day is looking better than it did from 11:30 - 12:30. Hope you all have a great week!

Pickles, Pickles, Pickles

Can you say pickles. We have been blessed with many cucumbers!! My in-laws sent several (like 12 large ones) home with me last night. Therefore I have now canned 11 pints and 2 quarts of dill pickles!! My only hope is that they seal or everyone could be eating them the next couple of weeks, because our mouths would be sore. I have heard a few pops, but not near enough!!

By the way, 3 weeks from yesturday we will be in school WITH KIDS!!!

Sad but true

It is somewhat sad, but the summer is coming to a fast ending. In a few weeks we will be back to school, daycare, getting up early, and doing all of the things (laundry, dishes, sweeping) during the evening. I guess I should not be whining, I should be thankful that I get these last few weeks to enjoy.

Since the last time I blogged we have played, mowed the cabin for Grandpa (they are in Colorado), Lori finished 6th in the Womens City Golf Tournament. ( top ten was my only goal) and did I say we have relaxed and spent lots of mornings on the couch with cartoons.

Well that is about all, not much exciting at the Bish House!! Have a great day all!

What to do on rainy days?

After the house was clean, we had been home, without leaving all day, we decided to go to the basement to paint. It was fun to see the boys excited about something new!!
This little wild child actually didn't like to get paint on him, he keep most of it on the paper!!
The boys both seemed to enjoy it. No sure what the red creation was, but he had a plan of his own. (he normally does)

These were the kiddos at the Troy United Methodist Church Bible School!! They had a great time! Thanks to all that helped.
