24

In 24 hours daddy will be home (hopefully). Brandon has been gone since Thursday evening since about 5:00! Wow that is a long 4 days for two little boys and their mom. He is in Texarkana wild hog hunting, and we have talked to him and he has killed 2 for sure!! We are glad he is having fun, but sad because he hasn't been home. However I got a lot accomplished today we didn't leave the house and Grandma Nikki came out. Thanks to her help I even got a nap, mowed the yard and cleaned house, graded lovely math tests, and fixed lunch and supper. We will post some pictures of the hogs hopefully in the next few days. Daddy is suppose to be home tomorrow evening!!!!!! YEAH

Please keep my friend in your prayers who just lost her dad at age 61.

Amish

If I were Amish I would already be in bed.
If I were Amish I wouldn't have a blog.
If I were Amish I would have 3 more kids.
If I were Amish I wouln't be teaching in a public school.
If I were Amish I would have more than 1, 5 gallon bucket of green beans to snap and can.
If I were Amish I would be...

Well that was fun, this blog started because 1 hour ago we were without electricity and I thought in bed by 8 could be possible because it is going to get dark. I am glad I am not amish by the way, I enjoy blogging, only having 2 boys, snapping a few green beans, the public school (well somedays not sure)I enjoy teaching. Those Amish have a special place in the world. (my husband prefers not the road)

Have a great FRIDAY!!!!!! - I am excited we get to wear jeans.

P.S. - I have a prayer request- A friend/teacher/new mother to a boy/- of mine just lost her father after a few years of throat cancer. She is going to have a rough few weeks these next couple of weeks, keep her in our prayers she is going through a lot!!!

What to blog...

As I am thinking what to blog about< I guess I will blog about being a healthy person well enough to teach Kindergarten!! At this point that is one positive that is easy to find. I must say the job "training the 5 year olds for school" is going to be an ongoing challenge. However as I am healthy there are certain spots in my heart for every child- for which every child (or most) has had their very own challenge in life before the age of 5. So I keep hoping and praying for the love and patience for each one of those children as each day comes to an end and I feel exhausted, mentally from saying numerous times "our mouths are closed", "zip the lips" , "our voices are off", "get off of those urinals"! Yes these things are said numerouse times throughout my day..
I am not whinning because it was the job I chose in life, however I just hope and pray for enough love and energy with patience each day.

In the light of life, we went on a monarch catepillar hunt tonight and only found 1 - it will get to stay at home, hopefully a kindergartener will bring some for our classroom.
Have a great day!!

Purple Marker

Tucker found a fun toy. As I was doing dishes and went to change laundry, the boys were quiet pjs on, t.v on so they are watching t.v perfect. WRONG, Tucker- the lovely little boy was playing with a permanent purple marker. By the way purple is his favorite color that he calls everything so he said mom purple marker. He was trying to get the marker off with by washing his hands. All I can say is alcohol was close to getting it off, but the little boy will have a purple tent for a while. I am thankful it was skin and not a piece of furniture!!!

Just thought I would give you all some entertainment!!

Excited to say the least

Well we are about 1 hour away from going to meet Tayden's Preschool teacher. We get to go take our supplies and meet her sometime between 6 and 7. Tayden is very excited!!!
He wasn't so excited last night when we got the final shots - he says they hurt- but he was a true champ.

I am excited because tomorrow is Friday, that means 3 days down!!! Wow lots of energy these last two day - the kids, not me. Also we get to wear jeans and support the Tigers tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!!!

I am kind of like my cousin, Libby, is anyone out there reading my blog or is this soley for my own thinking purposes?

12 hours

In twelve hours I will be deep into the soft, energetic, mothering, caring, helping, patient, and wonderful self I can be when I have to be. Tomorrow is the very first day of Kindergarten for 25 lovely students in Scotland County and guess who (hopefully) the apple of their eye will be when May rolls around ME! It is somewhat amazing to me how scared, helpless, timid, shy, bashful those wonderful little soles can be the first 3 days of school.
Then the excitement is over and the real life school every day hits and they think not everything (but still most) is exciting.
As I fall asleep tonight wondering how many tears there will be, how many times I will say some beautiful name(s) of the students I think will be my challenge, how many chicken nuggets will be on the floor at lunch, how much ketchup each will have. Most Kindergarten kids have never been able to squirt their own ketchup. Look out!!!! So I need all of the luck I can get and hope for a great new year.

Up to Bat

Today is a day when I remember how good my dad is at placing all of his team members (children) at a task to get several things done. Last post was about mulit tasking like my mother, well my father obviously gets a lot of things accomplished also, he just gets helpers.
My sister Leslie was suppose to watch Lincolns kiddos for about 1 hour, this evening, but dad wanted Leslie and the girls to go help set up the camper at the state fair and be there tomorrow, then come home. So Leslie is going, by the way dad is suppose to golf on Wednesday nights, guess who he got to golf, another team member Brandon. He asked grandma Chuck if she would watch Lincolns kiddos, well mother thinks she might need help, so Lori gets to go help, because I will be home, by the way mother is playing tennis tonight, so she is out. So far Lindsay, Adam, and Blake are the team members on the bench, but you never know when they will be up to bat to accomplish another goal!!
We are headed to the State Fair in the morning - if I get things packed tonight. The boys are excited and I am too!!!!

27

Well the number 27 is our highlight of the day. Grandma Chuck and I canned 27 quarts of green beans before noon. (Grandma called to get me going at 7:50, she had been up for hours I am sure) Thank you Grandma for all your help. Also thanks to my in-laws for providing the green beans, since mine haven't produced any yet.

I am also thankful for my lovely mother today. She has taught me how to multi task well.
Things I have done since 7:50;
Canned 27 quarts of green beans
Started lime pickles to can in the morning- or at 9 pm
Went to town
took trash
grocery store stop
baked zucchini cake
made a dip
changed the laundry
patched a pair of pants for my lovely husband
picked up the house (we are having company tonight)

Wow - did anyone notice - I haven't taken a shower. Hopefully that happens before the company comes.

Hope you all have a great safe weekend!!!!!!!

FIVE DOWN

Yes I watched my brothers children today. He has 3 plus my 2 equals 5. It went very well they played and entertained each other. Mayson the 8 mo. old and youngest was a little scared I think, I just hope I didn't starve her. We made is successfully through the day without any major problems, just a few tears. The thing I didn't think I could do was get them all to sleep, but I did for about 1 hour. The oldest , Tayden 4 and Sydney 3, don't usually nap, but they did today. So I have named 3 the other 2 are the 2 year old boys Tucker and Hayden. Yes I am alive and doing well after my day in the life of my Aunt Lisa (she has five kids.)
Have a great day!!!

Innocense is best!

Yes this little boy that likes to read books and look at pictures all by himself, can be innocent! If you know him very well he tends to be a little rotten and wild we aren't sure why. (note the dust pan in the oven on Sunday)

Why is it somedays the boys wake up and have lots of energy and loud voices! (yes that would be today)

What is that?

Well we have had a good weekend! Thank you Grandma for watching the boys Saturday and all night! Brandon and I went to Summer Splash with some friends and had a great time!!!! We got home about 11 today and I thought we would have chicken nuggets and french fries then take a few naps! Well I start the oven, go outside to shuck some sweet corn, as I am shucking Tayden comes out yelling for me to come to the house.( I am thinking what now, your dad is in there) When I enter I could smell the smoke smell coming from the kitchen, instantly I am like WHAT IS IT? Brandon says well I don't know but it was blue. Yes there was something melted in the oven and it was blue and making a great aroma. So I think to myself get out the deep fat fryer, I have one and don't use it very often, I get it out and plug it in. (thinking okay no biggy I can use it) Then I notice it is smoking and making a great aroma itself, great so I unplug it and take it to the garage. Well by now the kitchen smells like a pile of roses and lunch is not even started. Plan C use the skillet, microwave the chicken nuggets, boil the corn all is good. I start the skillet with hot oil, get the nuggets done. (I am still peeling blue plastic off of the oven rack) The french fries become done, so I get the spatula to get them out pick up the skillet and oil spills on the hot burner. Oil burner = small fire. Oh #$@% I say, BRANDON get in here. Tayden is yelling oh no, what mom, crap dad. I grab the flour thinking grease fire use flour, spill the oatmeal and Brandon comes in to see the fire is out no big deal!!! I put things away and get the broom out of the cabinet to clean up the oatmeal. There is no dust pan, guess what the blue plastic was in the oven, melted.

We did eat lunch, I got it cleaned up Tayden was a big help he went to feed the chickens the scraps and dumped the bowl of scraps, at this point I said oh well it happens!!!

It is now 5:00 we have had naps and I think we are going fishing tonight. The day is looking better than it did from 11:30 - 12:30. Hope you all have a great week!
