Our home

Well first off we made it through one week of mommy working everyday, and let me tell you between snow days, Christmas and sick boys and doctors it has been a long while since I have worked 5 full work days. We also as I stated in the last post, have made a decision to remove Tucker's tonsil and anoids, and put tubes in his ears. That is set up for Tues the 9th, therefore I won't work but one day that week!
We have been working on one of my resolutions, the past few days. Try not to loose my cool both at school and a home with the boys. Tucker potty training. Yes I have actually been working on two. We have put up two sticker charts, one for Tucker potty, and one for Tayden to be a good listener. They were both filled and Tayden got pick a friend to come over and Tucker wanted new pull-ups. Tayden had Colt Davis to our house last night to play until about 8. They were great, the house is still in tact and the boys were tired. Tucker has been potting since Wednesday, now I am not saying there are no accidents, but for the most part he is doing great and we are going to keep working at it.
I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Not sure what is in store other than Haircuts. If you see my oldest son very often, when he needs a haircut, he needs one now. Those pretty curls get really froish(not sure that is a word). Also Tuckers is beginning to cover his ears.
Well I think that is enough rambling and Have a great weekend.

Guess What???

Yes, I know you will be shocked, but Tucker peed in the potty. On Wednesday he made it all day at the babysitter!! (she must be the training whisperer, because it took one time of her talking about it or getting real serious(i don't care which) and he is going. He went at her house and then at home and we are excited. I can't wait to see how he has done today.

Also update on the little big boy who is peeing in the potty. We are going to get his tonsils, adnoids removed and tubes in his ears on the 9th of February.

Amish buggy

Well on the way home from Grandma Chuckie's tonight Tayden and I were in conversation about how the day was and what they did at Grandmas. (she watched them today, because our babysitter took a day off) Tayden said, "mom the amish buggies fixed my toy phone at grandmas today."
I said, "you mean the amish men, that came to eat lunch fixed your phone."

Tayden "no mom the amish buggies, you know that were with grandpa, they took that one nail and told me they would bring one to replace it so it would be fixed."

I said, "Tayden they are amish men and they are helping grandpa fix the machine shed."

Tayden replied," mom the amish buggies are helping grandpa and they ate lunch with us."

I replied,"okay Tayden"

End of conversation

Well, as some of you now understand the boys went to grandma Chucks today and she often fixes lunch for the amish when they are working for Jimmy or dad. It really entertained me that Tayden doesn't understand yet that the buggies are what they travel in. However everytime we see them we are usually in the car and I say "there are amish buggies"

Just thought I would share some entertainment!!

Scrapbooking

Well since I started blogging the actual physical scrapbooking has been on hold. I have updated this afternoon however. I have gotten the Bish Family scrapbook updated clear to Tayden Lee Bish's first day of Preschool. I have either misplaced or forgot to order pictures from Halloween and Tayden's birthday. I think one year of updating will work for today I will work on Halloween, Birthday and Christmas at a later date. Hope all of you keep yours up to date.

Hmm

It is such a lovely day outside.

When I am home with two energetic boys, this entertains me. Tucker had the dogs and puzzle boxes lined up to eat and the diaper box in the background is the dog pen, he puts them all away and plays with them often. I love to see their imagination.

If you care, these pictures were taken from the house, through the window. Rex (the horse) is looking old, he is about 28 I think. The lovely little black lamb was so cute and their were some running and jumping, but to far to capture the moment. As for the mommies, they are thinking wow it is cold and wet.

We hope you are enjoying your Saturday!!!!

Peace

I am at peace today. Tayden Lee went to preschool today, and since I had to get out, Tucker Ross went to Denny's. Yes some of you may wonder, why wouldn't you keep him with you and enjoy some one on one, and the answer to that would be hard for me to answer, but we have had three snow days this week and believe it or not, mommy need some alone time. Also with three snow days, we needed groceries and I had a little trash to take to town. Therefore they both got to go be social and so did I, (with Grandma). I picked up Grandma and headed to town after putting Tayden on the bus at 9:30. We made several stops and we were home by 12:00. She had a list to accomplish and we succeeded, for any of you that don't know her, she doesn't like to stay at home to long at a time. I will verify she is easier to take to town than two young children, no carseat or diapers, and legally she can be in the car while I am in the store. I have had a fairly quiet afternoon, picking up, talking on the phone, choring, sewing and just enjoying the queit of the music in the kitchen.

I am gearing up for company. My husband has buddies (3) coming to stay at our house for the weekend to hunt. So I am cooking and preparing for extra bodies, other than that we have no plans for the weekend other than church. Enjoy your weekend we are going to try and enjoy ours!!!

The quilt

This is the quilt that I worked on a for a whole year. I have pieced it together, tied it and my lovely mother did the binding.

My lovely mother also fixed the corner that Tucker thought he needed cut as I was tieing it one evening.

The quilts I am working on now are for the boys and I am in process!!

Home

Yes we are home again today, along with many people. The ice outside is crazy and I think I will work on sewing and taxes today!! I should be sure to have a headache by 12:00. Taxes do that to me.

As for the boys we are wearing big boy undies and shooting the nerf gun at a target on the wall (homeade by tayden) !! We hope you all have a great day and we are looking for new adventures!!

P.S All 9 lambs are still going strong!

Odd

It started out an odd day. 5:57 and the phone rings "this is Dave Shalley at Scotland County and we will not have school today."

As I think to myself, it must be slick or foggy, oh well I will go back to bed. The phone rings, my cell phone rings and I get a text, all of which were asking why are we not having school. Well, we didn't know at first, but heard that the roads were slick in Missouri.

Okay so I will drink my coffee and think about what to do. I called Lisa and we discussed a bed. Dickie and Lisa got a new bed and offered us theirs. They had a air pocket bed, and it was queen(we had an old full bed with a normal mattress) sure we will be over, therefore the boys and I headed that way and by 11:00 we had the bed moved and up ready to go.

This afternoon I thought I would work on taxes and therefore it gave me a headache, which was a positive because then I was ready for Jillian Michaels. (i love days off and being able to workout whenever instead of 5:15.)

I went out to get the mail and check the sheep and guess what I found-- yep twins. That means our total head count is 9 lambs. I believe we have 6 ewes that have lambed that means we have about 15 left. Yes I love when there becomes a flock of babies.

I have enjoyed being home, even with two energetic boys and we have stitch and (&%*% tonight so I better jump in the shower.

Eating

Yes this has to do with one of those lovely New Years Resolution.

I started a workout video and for any that care it is Jillian Michaels and yes she kicks ass, literally there is a part in workout 1 that asks you to kick your own ass. (butt kicks) I did very well for the first week and half, I have took a temporary break for about 4 days and I am back at it, tonight I did workout 2 again and yes I made it. I am going to have to get up at 5:15 to get it done, otherwise I drag my feet of an evening. I also have a problem with eating some hours of the day from 3-4 and then from 8-9 if I could skip those hours I would be okay. I am just looking to drop some pounds so I can wear all of the clothes in my closet and be presentable.

I will keep at it this week and see what happens, I am hoping for some - results.

By the way.... I have a dream that summer will come
.....I have a dream Tucker will go potty in the potty
...... I have a dream that I will find my bed soon

What is your dream? Happy Birthday Martin Luther King Jr.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obligation or Privilege?

Is it an obligation or privilege to worship the lord? That was the sermon today at church, it got me to thinking about lots of things. I know we should be thankful for the small things we have and yes it is my life and yes I am living it the way I want to, I know that some days I could make better choices, serve the lord in different ways and be more giving. The minister also talked about living our life to share or give to others and yes I try to do that as a wife, mother and teacher, but I probably could give more and share more of myself. I don't feel that it is an obligation for me to go to church, worship, serve the lord and share myself, I feel like that is part of my life, my world, one of the choices that I make and yes it is a privilege to have a church family and people to help fill my childrens plates at spaghetti lunches at the church. It is a privilege to have two wonderful boys to go pick up from Denny's everyday, to have a job to go to that is warm(some days to warm), to have coffee to drink, to sleep in my wonderful bed with new flannel sheets(yes leslie I totally see the difference). I have lots of privileges in my life and this week I will try to charish those privileges more. I have to charish the quilt that is done and on my bed also. (pictures to come)

Do you think that it is an obligation or privilege to live your daily life and serve the lord?????

Better

Better, well I am at school and I will be short with this, but just letting you all know, that I am better. I slept last night, my kids slept good, this morning went well and the boys got to go to the Davis's. Tayden asked me if I could be late so he could play, he will get off the bus there. Tucker will have a ball and might I add that neither one of them took time to say bye when I left. Oh Well, I know they are in good hands and it is easy to leave them when they are happy!!

Have a great Friday!!!!

Grumpy

Grumpy, grouchy, yelling, upset, bothered, bad mood! Yes I am all of those things tonight and I am not sure exactly why. I think it was the small amount of sleep last night(we had 6 lambs in 14 hours), plus the extra hour of work today and the rainy weather. I don't really know, but those sound like excellent excuses. I am going to try to be nice this next hour and the rest of you have a great day!!!

Update

Well an update on some things in our small family world right now. First and foremost, Tucker Ross is headed to the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor in exactly two weeks- hopefully there will be some answers there. Secondly- we have living triplets in the barn right now, hopefully they make it through the night. Third- we have one less dog, the one Santa brought us is now in heaven with a few of our past dogs(not sure what happened- I personally think he was sick) The boys have not asked about him, therefore I don't know what we will tell them. At least we have Casey to love and cuddle. Fourth- It is Wednesday and another week has flown by. I think that is all- I am now going to work on some U.S cellular cards the lst day is Friday!!!! i THINK WE HAVE A CHANCE

Sheep

As you know from a post a couple weeks ago, we have sheep!! We have a flock of 17 ewes, 6 year old ewes (1st year mommies) and, well as of the 10th of January we are not starting off very well. Our flock has been reduced to 15 ewes -one of which has a lamb, therefore we have 20 left to lamb(that is if they are all bred). One mommy we lost was similar to a grandma or I prefered to call her crow bate, she was old and well we expected the cold week would get the best of her, the other mommy we lost had some issues lambing( I won't go into detail for those of you with a week stomach).

So as a fun loving sheperd I sure hope that our lambing luck gets to going up on the rollercoaster, because it sure is fun to go out and see that precious small lamb. We hope the lamb flock grows a little larger.

Enough farm talk, at church this morning we were asked to think of the small things that we are thankful for and to be glad we have warm homes to live in, therefore I challenge you to think of the small things you are thankful for. Also we were asked to invite someone to church next week, therefore anybody who would like to attend the Troy church, let me know.

Also as a school teacher we are hoping for a new playground, or at least some equipment, and we have a chance. U.S. Cellular is giving out $100,000 to the top ten schools. The contest is a vote from Community member or other people around the states. Therefore if you would like to assist or give at least your vote to our school we would love to have some new playground equipement. If you are interested all you have to do is go to U.S. cellular and pick up a voting card and then follow the directions, we are voting for the North School!!!! All votes would be appreciated, you can check it our at www.uscellular.com/callingallcommunities.

Thank you and have a great week.
P.S. sorry for all of the topics at once!

Well I know that you all know how much we like our allergy doctor! He was a pediatrician and now an pediatric pulmonologist(i think that is his title). He gave me his cell phone number when we first seen him a year ago October. He didn't know I would be calling on Saturday morning at 9:00 saying what is wrong with him, what can we do to prevent it, how many nebulizer treatments a day, where is this coming from, he has been on medicine for 10 days, we were just in your office and we will be back on Tuesday.

Yes that was me this morning. I called Dr. Graeff on a Saturday morning at 9:00 concerned. Is it bad that I called him and didn't call the hospital, because I was close to packing up and heading to the ER, I was a little scared. Tucker was having trouble breathing and getting sleepy. He was not breathing in, instead he was coughing. LUCKILY we have a nebulizer, he responded quickly and now acts like there is nothing wrong. I am glad he bounces out of things quickly.

We go back to the doctor on Tuesday and we will discuss more then. I hope we find a solution to this problem and quickly. Glad you all let me vent and discuss things in my own head.

Also I came across a very sad blog this morning, not sure how but I did and I think God is trying to tell me to be patient with my children and enjoy them plus be glad I have two healthy(for the most part) boys to hold and love every day in my own arms. The blog I read was about a couple who have lost two children as infants and in the womb. They are sad and longing the needs to have a baby to hold. I have two what more could I want!! Be thankful for what we have and enjoy the balls of joy that God has given us. Keep them safe and I will try to keep them healthy!!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!

Enjoy

Well I hate to say this because some people have to work today and I do really feel for you, especially if you have to work outside(my husband), but it feels great to stay home, so I might as well enjoy it.
I really think we need to be in school the last two days, because May is getting longer by the day, however the weather and roads don't agree and there is not a darn thing I can do about it, therefore I will stay in my house, with my coffee and be warm. Hoping today to get more accomplished than I did yesterday, yesterday the only thing I got accomplished was refereeing two small children on what to do and how to listen to their mother. The weather outside is very frightful and the one tough little lamb we have is hanging in their, but we won't let them outside till it gets warmer. Hope you can stay warm and enjoy the coziness of the place you are!! Have a great Friday!!!

Miracle Drink

Well as some of you know, I have started a new habit, it seems to be great on the mornings when it is 2 or below zero, buses are jelling up, kids are late, and my riding partner have 30 minutes to drive in the snow. Coffee. I have started drinking coffee mostly to keep me warm, also to give me energy and to be social at school. The problem is, Mrs. Lough and I have to add lots of creamer and sugar before we can drink it. The other problem is I have one to go mug drank by the time we get to school and therefore I have to use the bathroom before my allotted break at 10:00. I have been managing and it is quite nice, because then I only have 1 pop during the day. I also love to drink it at home when I sit down to do something just a little chilled and it makes the task easier!! I never knew such an easy drink to fix(pour in water and scoop coffee), could solve so many small(microscopic) problems.
- Thank you coffee for helping me get threw these extra cold days!!! (if you were wondering day 3 of inside recesses)- wow

makes short sharp turns

"makes short sharp turns", do you know the word that belongs with that definition. If you do than you are smarter than a Kindergarten students.

While I was making my lesson for reading we teach vocabulary along with our books. The word was ________ (you fill in the blank) and I thought I wonder what the definition is because I just think of a line, but have never thought about the definition. Well you got it the definition "makes short sharp turns".

Thank goodness for pictures or the 5 and 6 year old boys and girls in this room would be confused.
My lovely thoughts for the day!

The word is - zigzag

Puppies and Pictures

These are the two new pets at our house. Casey is the black one she is a heeler and we like heelers, she came from Campbells and we hope she is a great yard dog in the future. Jack is the little one, I believe he is a Jack Russel and Santa left him under the Christmas Tree, (we think santa and the elves spoiled him). We enjoy both puppies and they get to spend a little time in the house, but most of the time is spent in the garage.
I will say if they can make it through these lovely little boys we will be doing good and they will be strong! (especially Jack- he is so small.)

Sorry for the picture problem- just turn your head to the left a little and you will see that Jack enjoys sleeping and Tayden loves to snuggle as he watches T.V.

Casey isn't as big as snuggler, she would just as soon sleep on the floor by herself. She likes to play and Tucker likes to play also.
Tayden loves the snow, he loves to be outside, he loves to play with the puppies, he can spend hours messing around outside by himself.
Tucker likes to be outside, but he is not real fond of the cold, snow, or the bright sunshine. He would rather be inside or inside the car. We attempted to make a snowman, but we were a day late, the snow was to much like powder to make a snowman, maybe the next wet snow we will be successful.

soup cans

I was working on one of my new year's resolution this morning and I couldn't find my small hand weights - so I got out 2 soup cans thinking that would be better than nothing. I was listening to the lady on t.v and doing my excellent moves(ya right). When I turned around my soup cans had tripled, the boys had both retrieved some also so they could exercise with me, gotta love their help!!!
